North Capitol Hill: Kitchen Remodel

Older Craftsman homes typically have beautiful living and dining rooms, and not-so-great kitchens and bathrooms, as was the case here. However, there wasn’t much space to expand the kitchen because of the lot constraints. What worked here was a 14-foot, 30-inch-deep cantilevered bump-out, where we placed most of the home’s major appliances. Beautiful soapstone counters and stained-glass cabinet doors complement the custom cherry cabinets.
